Favorite Course:  Merion Golf Club, PA – East Course.  I had a chance to play this history rich golf club with Jim Salinetti on the way down to PGA Q-school and the quality of the holes and shot making skills it demanded was amazing.  Plus… wicker baskets!

Favorite Massachusetts Club – Besides Taconic Golf Club it would have to be The Kittansett Club in Marion.  This is a classic links course on Buzzards Bay with an emphasis on controlling your golf ball.  I also called it home while I lived above the pro shop for 4 years as an assistant professional there.

Tip to Amateurs:  I remember a practice tip I received from my coach at the University of Rhode Island. He said to make sure that your practice time was productive and meaningful.  For example, if you are on the range hitting balls, have a purpose as to why you are hitting balls, so that you are not just beating balls for the sake of beating balls.  He also believed that you should focus on swing changes (or swing corrections) and make the practice you put in count.  With this in mind, a ½ hour practice session would be more meaningful than, for instance, three hours of just mindlessly hitting balls. It is not the amount of time you put in, but the focus and planning you put into your session. Following the session, go out there and make your practice pay off—execute!!!

Most memorable lesson:  Helping my 6-year old little cousin get the golf ball airborne and moving forward.  The joy on her face was enough to make that lesson stick in my mind forever.
